The following is a listing of key locations within this sector that may be the most productive based on past experience. Also noted are species that are hard to find within the count circle and are possible within the habitat of this sector. Please don't limit census to just the areas mentioned, but consider them the most important. Cover as much of the sector as your time and energy allows. Remember, if your party splits or moves to another sector, please begin a new field card. Rancho el Chorro / El Chorro Regional Park

Check Pennington and Dairy Creeks - Rancho el Chorro, El Chorro Regional Park, and the Dairy Creek Golf Course, and walk road/trail up canyon from the dog park. Much of this sector must be covered on foot. If owling, be alert for Screech and Pygmy Owls.

Rancho el Chorro - Check pond and around buildings for sparrows. Watch for raptors, Burrowing Owls, and turkeys.

El Chorro Regional Park and Dairy Creek Golf Course - Check pepper trees for sapsuckers and watch for White-tailed Kite.

Check the campground and the ponds on the golf course for geese.
