Sector 20

The following is a listing of key locations within this sector that may be the most productive based on past experience. Also noted are species that are hard to find within the count circle and are possible within the habitat of this sector. Please don't limit census to just the areas mentioned, but consider them the most important. Cover as much of the sector as your time and energy allows. Remember, if your party splits or moves to another sector, please begin a new field card. Diablo Canyon / PG&E Property

Access to the sector is controlled by PG&E and must be prearranged. Drive and walk canyons including Diablo, Pecho, and Irish. Walk areas of riparian habitat and drive ridge road. Some of coastal bluff is within sector, but no shoreline. Crowbar Canyon not in sector. Species recorded here include Greater Roadrunner, Band-tailed Pigeon, Steller's Jay, Varied Thrush, and unusual warblers such as Hermit and Nashville. Check mature oaks for Brown Creeper. Owling could be productive but night access has never been available.
