FIELD TRIP: Birding at the Piedras Blancas Light Station
DATE: Wednesday, April 23, 2025
TIME: 9:00 AM -12:00 Noon
LEADERS: The Keally and Revel Teams
Trip is limited to 20 participants - Signups will be taken for 24 hours. Participants will be randomly selected. Those 20 participants must remit payment ($20) within 6 days of registration to be completely confirmed for the trip. The remainder will be put on standby status in case of cancellations. Only registered people may attend.
Description: Located 6 miles north of San Simeon, the Piedras Blancas Light Station provides stunning views of pelagic birds among offshore rock formations and birds of the coastal sage scrub. Hosted exclusively for birders from MCAS, we will be allowed to bird the entire area - grounds and trails. Following a brief update from BLM Staff, join the Revel and Keally Teams for a guided bird walk around the property.
Please note that the group meets near the Light Station at the designated time, and late arrivals will not be admitted. Restrooms are available at the Light Station.
