Description: Los Flores Ranch Park comprises 1,778 acres of rolling hills south of the City of Santa Maria. The park offers the public a mix of environmental education, land preservation and recreation, with about fifteen miles of multi-use trails. On this active 2.25 mile trip, look for songbirds, flycatchers and raptors. There is a gradual uphill walk on asphalt from the parking lot to the entrance. The trails can be overgrown, so long pants are recommended. Porta potties are available at the start and on the trail.
Bring a hat, water, snacks, sunscreen, binoculars and field guides (if you have them) and dress in layers to accommodate wind and changing weather. Long sleeves and long pants are recommended because of thistles and other vegetation that can cause discomfort. Sturdy shoes are recommended.
NOTE: $3.00 entrance fee; free for Seniors 65+
Directions: 6271 Dominion Road
From San Luis Obispo or Santa Maria: Head South on HWY 101. Turn Left at Clark Ave. Exit. Turn Right on Dominion Rd. The main parking lot is approx. 2 miles on the right. Do not park at The Patch or Equestrian parking lots.
