DESCRIPTION:
We’ll watch as the sun sets and birds of prey species change from the diurnal to the nocturnal. There’s a steep, short incline at the start, then the terrain turns to rolling hills and easy trails. As Rodent Central, this area is frequented by harriers, falcons, and kites during the day, then possible Short-Eared Owls and Great Horned Owls at dusk.
Bring a hat, water, snacks, binoculars and field guides (if you have them) and dress in layers to accommodate wind and changing weather. Sturdy shoes are recommended. This trail is rated “moderate”. Restrooms are not available. Rain cancels.
ADA Accessible: No
Experience Level: All Levels Welcome
RSVP and Proof of Full COVID Vaccination Required!
Registration will open on the morning of FEB 10th. On that date, the LINK to the Field Trip’s Registration Form will ONLY be sent out via MCAS ALERT and SLOCOBIRDING.
