Morro Coast Audubon Society Presents
FIELD TRIP: San Simeon Creek
DATE: Monday, June 6, 2022
TIME: 8:30am to 12:00 noon
LEADER: Bob Keally
Trip is limited to 12 participants - A waiting list will be started once the trip is full.
Join Bob Keally for a moderate 2-3 mile walk to identify the birds of San Simeon State Park. The group will walk through riparian areas by creek, wetlands, shoreline, then into the chaparral and pine forest habitats to discover a variety of land, shore and ocean birds. We hope to see Snowy Plovers, Pygmy Nuthatches, terns and a variety of raptors.
Experience Level: All Levels Welcome
Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, binoculars and field guides (if you have them) and dress in layers to accommodate changing weather. Sturdy shoes are recommended. There will be 2 -3 miles of slow walking along a wooden boardwalk, the beach, and a mostly flat trail with a few moderate uphill sections.
