
The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County
The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County is a local land trust working within San Luis Obispo County. Their mission is to protect land having scenic, agricultural, habitat and cultural values. They do this through land acquisition, conservation easements, and resource restoration.
The Land Conservancy was created in 1984. Since it’s formation, over 8,000 acres of land have permanently protected in San Luis Obispo County. Their activities also include conservation planning, natural resource restoration, and community outreach. It is governed by a Board of Trustees representing various communities within the County and have a dedicated professional staff. It is a non-profit organization funded through membership and grants for specific projects.
